Cool People

Here are just a few of the many wonderful humans who have helped to inspire and to support this group over the years.

Alliance Française Omaha. If you’re looking to take classes at all levels or to simply attend events often held in English and sometimes French, this is the place to go! And besides, we’re a proud partner with AFO!

Bernie Duhaime, Jerry Syslo, Beth McInerney, Katie Kasher, and Jean Hanson. Not only AFO board members but longtime and early adopters of Café et Conversation.

Charlie Whitesides. Charlie is the original inspiration for Café et Conversation Midwest and a friend of this group. If you’re wanting to speak French like a native, he’s the guy for you. His social media is filled with helpful content for French learners plus he occasionally takes on private students. You can find him on his popular YouTube channel, StreetFrench.

FrenchWithMary. A longtime friend and supporter of this group—and tutor for several members of C&C over the years—she’s an excellent and patient teacher for French learners at all levels.

Camille and Olivier of FrenchToday.com. Not only have they been supportive of this group, their website is a treasure trove of great information for French learners at all levels.

Oliver Gee of the wonderful podcast, The Earful Tower. When you know a guy in Paris he sends you videos made in front of the Eiffel Tower congratulating you on your group’s anniversary.

Linda Gjere, Ryan Foehlinger, Chris McClellan, Lani Santos, and Kate Ryan Brewer. If you were there back in those early days at Blue Line Coffee you know how special it was to watch French New Wave films in the back of the coffee shop.
