Just because Nebraska and Iowa are geographically far from your favorite French-speaking country, doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of opportunities to speak French right here in America’s heartland.

Our mission at Café et Conversation Midwest is to bring the French to you. No matter your level—from complete beginner to native speaker—all are welcome. 

Beginning and intermediate speakers find our meetups to be the ideal place to try out the language in person and in real time, and to actually speak the language they might have been studying—perhaps online or from an app. Or maybe they’re returning to the language after having studied it in school many years ago.

And for advanced and native speakers, it’s a wonderful way to, well, speak a language they deeply care about. 

You’ll also see that our events often happen on various days and at various times and locations. This is done with intention. Simply put, it’s to offer our members as many opportunities to attend an event. 

And speaking of members, anyone can join. As long as you have an interest in speaking French, we’d love to see you. Oh, and there are no dues. It’s completely free to join and attend our events. We’re an all volunteer group of humans who simply want to give other Francophones the chance to speak French.

Ultimately, at the heart and soul of C&C is community and kindness. Indeed, that’s the entire point. Yes, we might gather to improve and to speak French, but ultimately, our group is made up of humans who care about each other. No matter who you are, or where you’re from, and no matter if you’re a complete beginner or native speaker, you are welcome.
